A Software Engineer and Photographer

Born in a small town in the Central of Vietnam, I have enjoyed my childhood with all folk games without internet.

Software Engineer

My journey into programming began in high school in 2007, where I was introduced to Pascal as my first programming language. I was captivated by the idea that computers could accomplish so much with just 0s and 1s, and this fascination shaped my decision to pursue a career in computer science

I earned my initial computer science degree after four years at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. In 2015, I moved to the United States with my family and decided to start fresh by pursuing another CS degree. This was no easy decision, but it led me to UCLA, where I strengthened my computer science foundation and enjoyed an incredible academic experience

My focus is on Distributed System in production. Throughout my career, I had chances to work with multiple big scale system at Broadcom Inc. and Corning Inc. I am currently a Site Reliability Engineer at TikTok, where I oversee thousands of machines dedicated to big data storage using HDFS and compute management with YARN

Sharing knowledge is something I’m passionate about, which is why I created my blog. Feel free to check it out—I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Photographer

I discovered the beauty of photography in 2014 when I joined the Canon Photo Marathon Vietnam, a competition where participants captured street photos based on assigned themes. Armed with a borrowed digital camera, I photographed everything that caught my eye. The joyful moments of that experience remain unforgettable.

Telling a story through a photograph is never easy. A good camera doesn’t guarantee great photos—it takes a sharp eye and a creative mind. Sometimes, the perfect moment unfolds naturally, requiring patience and readiness to capture it.

Over the past decade, I’ve continued to tell stories through my photos, hoping to inspire others along the way. Feel free to explore my gallery—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
